“Trust, Faith and Surrender — That’s What We Need.” Samantha Galbano from Mumbai, Maharashtra, shares her deeply personal experience of visiting Our Lady of Good Health at Velankanni. For Samantha, every visit to Velankanni is a completely different experience. Though she knows the place well, the feeling of standing at Mother Mary’s feet changes every year. She describes it as coming home—as though she is sitting with a beloved family member who understands everything, even without words. There were moments when Samantha felt lost, lonely and distant from God. Yet, she believes that Mother Mary helped bring her back to Him. Through prayer, reflection and taking accountability for her sins, she discovered a renewed sense of faith and healing. At just 19 years old, Samantha faced a difficult year and underwent surgery. She had hoped to carry Mother Mary's Pali this year, but she continues to trust that, by God's grace, she will be able to do so next year. For Samantha, faith does not mean that life will always be easy—it means believing that God has a plan even when we cannot see it.
